How hackers build their own portable hacking machine
So, let’s get started to build our own portable hacking machine. This hacking machine is not as powerful as your laptop or pc. But, it’s enough powerful to run many of the hacking tools, also to use one of the most famous operating system used for hacking known as kali linux. As we move forward, we will dive deep and get detail information of each of the hardware and software we’re going to use for this machine.
Hardware
Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (2GB, 4GB, or 8GB RAM version)
MicroSD card (16GB or larger recommended)
Power supply (USB-C)
Display
USB keyboard and mouse
Case, cooling solution.
Software
Kali Linux
Now, let's get started with the process of building our own portable hacking machine.
Firstly, take raspberry PI that you're going to use(The latest version is preferable for better performance, but older versions can work too.), fit it into the case and instead of the top lead connect display to the raspberry PI.
Display and raspberry are done fitting into the case. Now, we are going to install kali linux on our sd card.
Insert sd card into the sd card reader and connect to the pc/laptop (use new sd card or empty sd card).
Download kali linux image file.
Download balenaEthcher (for installing kali linux on sd card).
Extract downloaded kali linux zip file.
Open balenaEthcher.
Click on flash new file and select kali linux extracted file.
Click on select target and select sd card that we're going to use.
Click on flash and let the flashing process get complete(it take around 15 to 20 min).
Done, now your sd card is ready to insert into the raspberry PI.
As of now our setup of raspberry PI within the case is done and our sd card is ready to use.
Now moving forward, let's turning on the raspberry PI setting up our display.
Connect raspberry PI to the power bank.
Connect raspberry PI to the monitor/smart TV (display we connected to raspberry PI will be blank or blacked until setup is done).
Kali linux will be starting and log in page appears.
Log into the system (user = kali, pass = kali).
Open terminal and type "sudo kalipi-tft-config" and enter.
Select "setup display".
Select "waveshare".
Select "wave35b".
Select "rot090".
After setup just select "finish" option and "no" to reboot option.
Type "reboot" and enter.
Now our display starts up.
Connect wifi adaptor and bluetooth adapter connect keyword, connect wifi and done our portable hacking machine is ready to use.
